2020 Theater Event - Groundhog Day the Musical

Plan to attend the SITE Florida & Caribbean Theater Night on Thursday, February 6th, 2020 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. We have bought-out Marti’s New River Bistro for a networking reception and prix fixe dinner followed by an amazing performance of Groundhog Day by the Slow Burn Theatre Company. And, of course, complimentary valet parking is provided.
The night’s program:
5:00pm - Networking reception on the terrace at Marti’s New River Bistro
5:45pm – Prix fixe 3-course dinner at Marti’s New River Bistro
7:30pm – Groundhog Day in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts
About Groundhog Day and the Slow Burn Company
Inspired by the hilarious film starring Bill Murray, Groundhog Day features a book by original co-screenwriter Dan Rubin, and music and lyrics by Tony Award-winner Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical).
Karma can be a funny thing. How would you spend your time if forced to repeat the same day over and over again? When seasoned big-city weatherman Phil Connors, gets stuck in small-town America, laughter is in the forecast. Frustrated to be to reporting on the annual Groundhog Day Ceremony in small town Punxsutawney, PA, he disdainfully covers the rodent’s negative forecast, and awakens the next day only to discover it’s February 2 once more, ultimately finding himself doomed to repeat the same day over and over and over again.
Slow Burn Company
Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, Slow Burn Theatre Company was opened in August 2009. They are a locally based professional theatre company with a mission of providing South Florida’s diverse population with opportunities to experience high quality, daring, contemporary and intelligent works of musical theatre through attendance, employment, and/or educational and community outreach programs. In the years since opening their first show (Bat Boy: The Musical on Feb. 18, 2010) they’ve grown beyond expectations to critical acclaim.

MEMBER RATE: Tickets are $135 per person for SITE members and $135 for the hosted planner (up to three per host).
NON-MEMBER RATE: Tickets are $185 per person for non-SITE members and $135 for the hosted planner (up to three per host).
Planners not hosted or wish to register with the single fee but without a host may do so by contacting the Chapter Administrator. Each person is registered independently and planners are subject to approval.
